‘Picnic’ Enters the Sankranti Race.. Title and Release Date Locked!

Bhavana Studios has announced its upcoming film Picnic, following the success and popularity of projects such as Premalu and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit. The movie is being developed as an out-and-out family comedy drama and marks the directorial debut of Kiran Josey, who previously worked as a co-writer on both projects. The makers unveiled the title along with a new poster, introducing Picnic as the film’s official title.

Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran are associated with the project, while Govind Vasantha is composing the music. Sandeep Pradeep, Indrajith Sukumaran and Dileesh Pothan are set to play key roles. The makers have also announced that Picnic will have a worldwide theatrical release on January 14, 2027, across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The combination of a family-oriented story, comedy elements and the creative team has generated curiosity around the project.
