

The Indian film industry has lost one of its most versatile performers, National Award-winning Malayalam actor Salim Kumar. Known for his exceptional comic timing and powerful performances, he had been undergoing treatment for a serious liver-related ailment at a private hospital in Kochi. His health reportedly deteriorated during treatment, and he passed away following a cardiac arrest. The news of his demise has left the film fraternity and fans deeply saddened.
During his illustrious career, Salim Kumar acted in more than 300 films across Malayalam, Tamil, and Bengali cinema. Starting as a mimicry artist and comedian, he later earned immense acclaim for his emotional and character-driven performances. His role in Adaminte Makan Abu earned him the prestigious National Film Award for Best Actor. Apart from acting, he also ventured into filmmaking and direction, leaving behind a remarkable legacy in Indian cinema.
