Sumanth has revealed that Mahendragiri Varahi is the result of nearly two-and-a-half years of hard work. Directed by Santosh Jagarlapudi, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 11. Speaking about the project, Sumanth said the story was finalised around three years ago, but the film was delayed for various reasons as the team struggled to find suitable producers. The project eventually took shape after producers Madhu and Lakshman came on board.
The actor also recalled the challenges faced during the shoot. He said director Santosh Jagarlapudi suffered a leg fracture during filming but continued to come to the sets and complete the project despite the injury. At times, the team had to carry him to the shooting location, Sumanth recalled. The actor also injured his own leg during the shoot but continued performing, including dancing sequences. The film has now completed its journey and is gearing up for its theatrical release.
