‘Karuppu’ Was Initially Prepared for Vijay: RJ Balaji

Suriya’s recent release Karuppu has emerged as a super hit, and director RJ Balaji revealed that the film was originally planned for actor Vijay. In a recent interview, he shared that Vijay had considered the film as his last project before entering politics. The two had multiple discussions regarding the script, and Vijay even asked if the shoot could begin immediately. However, due to his political commitments, he stepped away from the project, and Balaji later adapted the script to suit Suriya.

RJ Balaji credited Vijay for significantly influencing the story, stating that the questions asked by the actor helped refine the script. As a gesture of gratitude, Vijay was thanked in the film’s title credits. The director also revealed that Vijay personally called and congratulated the team after watching the film. He emphasized that Vijay’s inputs played a crucial role in shaping the final outcome of Karuppu.
