One of the biggest deals in the history of global entertainment was finalised as Netflix announced a definitive agreement to acquire Warner Bros., including its film and television studios, HBO Max, and HBO. The all-cash-and-stock transaction values Warner Bros. at approximately USD 82.7 billion, with WBD shareholders set to receive USD 27.75 per share.
With this acquisition, Netflix — already a giant in the global streaming space — is poised to expand into theatrical film production while taking ownership of Warner Bros.’ renowned libraries, studios, and internationally popular franchises. This move significantly reshapes the entertainment landscape and raises expectations about how content creation and distribution may evolve under the newly consolidated powerhouse.
