Bollywood actor Salman Khan recently stirred controversy on social media with his remarks during an event in Riyadh. Speaking at the Joy Forum 2025 last week, the Dabangg actor spoke about the diverse South Asian communities working in the Middle East and mentioned Balochistan separately from Pakistan. He said, “There are people from Afghanistan, Balochistan, and Pakistan… everyone is working here.”
This comment sparked outrage among social media users from Pakistan after it went viral. It’s unclear whether it was a slip of the tongue or a lack of awareness, but the remarks offended many Pakistanis since Balochistan is the largest province of their country and has a history of unrest due to separatist movements seeking autonomy and recognition as a distinct cultural region.
Following Salman’s controversial comment, several social media accounts and some Indian outlets began claiming that Pakistan’s government had placed him under the 4th Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act (1997).
A fake notification, allegedly stating that Salman Khan was added to the list as an “Azad Balochistan Facilitator,” is now circulating widely online. However, no credible Pakistani media outlet or official government source has confirmed this report.
In reality, only the federal government of Pakistan can declare a foreign national a terrorist, and there has been no official statement on this matter so far. The authenticity of these claims remains doubtful, though the story has grabbed massive attention on social media.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan continues hosting Bigg Boss Season 19 and shooting for his upcoming movie Battle of Galwan.
