The film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has been released in theatres across the country. From its very first day, the movie created a sensation and managed to attract a massive audience. It recorded strong box office collections on its opening day. However, reports suggest that the film was pirated within just a few hours of its release.
Not only in India, but also in Pakistan, videos showing pirated copies of the film being watched on home televisions have gone viral on social media. Interestingly, the ‘Dhurandhar’ series has been officially banned in Pakistan. Despite this, audiences there had previously managed to watch the first part in large numbers. Now, it is being reported that ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is also being accessed through pirated versions. Despite the ban, viewers in Pakistan appear to be finding ways to watch the film, sparking widespread discussion online. A related tweet has gone viral on social media. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the pirated version of the film is reportedly available online in Pakistan, with viewers streaming it using methods such as VPNs.
Pakistani journalist Khalid Mehmood Khalid highlighted this development on his X (formerly Twitter) account. He shared a screen clip and mentioned that he was watching the film in Lahore, posting, “Watching Dhurandhar 2 in Lahore.” This incident has reportedly caused concern among the film’s team. Meanwhile, social media is flooded with memes about how audiences in Pakistan are managing to watch the film. One viral meme reads, “Dhurandhar-2 released in theatres, Pakistani: VPN on karo, VPN on karo,” which is being widely shared online.
