Despite the influx of new releases and growing competition, the box office reign of the spy-action thriller 'Dhurandhar' remains undisputed. Starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, and Sanjay Dutt, the film has successfully completed a two-month run in theatres, maintaining strong momentum even after its OTT debut. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande on a budget of ₹280 crore, 'Dhurandhar' has scripted history by collecting a staggering ₹1304.5 crore worldwide. It now stands as one of the top four highest-grossing Indian films of all time. Experts suggest the numbers could have been even higher, had the film not been banned in six Gulf nations, potentially missing out on an additional ₹100 crore in revenue. Expressing her joy over this monumental success, producer Jyoti Deshpande drew a parallel to the legendary classic Sholay. She noted that like the 1975 blockbuster, 'Dhurandhar' has seen repeat audiences who are captivated by its dialogues and performances. "This victory belongs to the audience. It’s a success that money cannot buy," she stated. Looking ahead, the makers are highly confident about the sequel, 'Dhurandhar 2', which is scheduled to hit screens on March 19, 2026. Directed by Aditya Dhar, both parts were shot simultaneously. The producer revealed that the sequel will be even more gripping and is set for a massive release in five languages, including Telugu, on March 19.
