

The Telangana Government has intensified its focus on the submergence issues arising from the Polavaram Project. The state has decided to ensure that people likely to be affected by submergence receive compensation before the project is completed. Officials have also planned a key meeting with IIT Hyderabad to assess the impact and discuss technical aspects related to the project.
The government has directed officials to safeguard Telangana's interests and ensure that the state does not suffer losses due to the Polavaram Project. It is also focusing on securing pending funds from the Central Government. According to Telangana's assessment, nearly 900 acres are expected to be affected by submergence, and the state wants compensation to be provided well before the project becomes fully operational.
