

Telangana Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy held a meeting with the Television Awards Committee at the Secretariat to review plans for the state's first Television Awards. Discussions focused on the award categories, logo design, guidelines, venue, and the overall structure of the awards. MLC Shankar Naik, FDC Managing Director Mukunda Reddy, the committee chairman, and other members attended the meeting.
The minister said television remains one of the most popular entertainment platforms, especially among women and senior citizens, and stressed the need to recognize excellence across all television categories. He also said the government would encourage meaningful serials, television programmes, and children's content. Komatireddy added that the proposal to name the awards after former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao would be discussed with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He instructed the committee to prepare the logo, guidelines, and award structure at the earliest while ensuring the process remains completely transparent and reflects the spirit of Telangana.
