Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a video message on social media referring to the recent incident at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, where a group of youths allegedly used abusive language against him and his mother. He said the entire country, along with the world, witnessed the incident and described the behaviour as unfortunate. Despite the remarks directed at him, the Prime Minister chose to respond with a message of forgiveness rather than retaliation.
Modi stated that mistakes during youth are not uncommon and stressed that society's responsibility is to guide those who have gone astray instead of focusing only on punishment. He said legal action and prolonged court proceedings alone cannot bring meaningful change in such situations. Reiterating his belief in reform over retribution, he said he has forgiven those involved and called for efforts to help them return to the right path.
