Olympic medalist P. V. Sindhu has lauded the innovative governance approach of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, highlighting the introduction of “Magic Drains” as a game-changing solution for rural sanitation. In a video message, she appreciated the initiative aimed at addressing wastewater management challenges in villages, where lack of proper drainage systems often leads to unhygienic living conditions.
Sindhu noted that the Magic Drains system, equipped with soak pits and multi-layer filtration beds, effectively treats and absorbs wastewater, converting it into groundwater while eliminating stagnation and foul odor issues. She emphasized that the system reduces construction costs by nearly 80% compared to conventional cement drains, while significantly improving public health and hygiene. She expressed hope that with the support of Narendra Modi and leadership of N. Chandrababu Naidu, such forward-thinking initiatives will accelerate rural development across Andhra Pradesh.
