A passenger vessel carrying around 240 people has gone missing in Indonesia’s Java Sea while travelling from Surabaya to Banjarmasin. Radar contact with the vessel was reportedly lost during the journey, raising concerns over the safety of those onboard. Authorities are currently working to determine what happened to the ship.
Adverse weather conditions and high waves are suspected to have contributed to the incident, although the exact cause has not yet been confirmed.
