A major administrative lapse by the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) came to light after original OMR answer sheets were found scattered on the P.V. Narasimha Rao Expressway, between Shivarampally and the Aramghar underpass. The documents were identified as OMR sheets from the 2018 Hostel Welfare Officer recruitment examination. Since they contained candidates' names, hall ticket numbers, paper codes, and invigilators' signatures, motorists stopped to collect and photograph them before informing the authorities.
Police reached the spot and seized the documents. As per standard procedure, used examination papers must be shredded into small pieces before being sent for recycling. However, the OMR sheets were reportedly transported directly to Vijayawada for recycling without following the prescribed process, resulting in the papers falling onto the road. The incident triggered outrage among candidates over the handling of confidential documents. TGPSC has directed the concerned SP to submit a report within three days and stated that strict action will be taken against those found responsible based on the inquiry.
