The National Police Academy (NPA) has suspended trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy following the recommendations of its Privilege Committee. The action comes after the committee concluded that the allegations against the probationary officer were found to be genuine based on its inquiry.
According to officials, the Privilege Committee examined CCTV footage and other supporting evidence before arriving at its conclusion. Acting on the findings, the committee ordered his immediate suspension from the academy. The NPA also clarified that the final decision regarding Uday Krishna Reddy's appointment and continuation in the Indian Police Service rests with the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
