Hyderabad’s First Residential Township Skywalk to Connect LB Nagar Metro

Hyderabad is set to get its first skywalk directly connecting a metro station with a residential township. The proposed skywalk will link LB Nagar Metro station with Vasavi Ananda Nilayam, a gated community comprising 3,576 flats. Vasavi Group CMD Yerram Vijay Kumar said in a statement on Wednesday that the project has received the required statutory approvals, along with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the traffic police. Construction will begin after traffic diversions and barricading arrangements are completed.

The skywalk is being jointly developed by Vasavi Avenues LLP and SR Infra & Developers. As per the agreement with L&T Hyderabad Metro, the facility is to be completed within six months. The ₹15-crore project has been designed by IIT Hyderabad and will extend from the central median to the footpaths along National Highway 65. It will have 10 major pillars, each measuring 5.94 metres in diameter and 8.64 metres in height, positioned at intervals of around 12–14 metres. The design has been planned to avoid obstructing any future expansion of the service road. The facility will include a ramp, lift and staircase access, providing direct connectivity between the metro station and the residential community.
