Heavy rainfall was recorded across several districts of Telangana, bringing relief from the summer heat while raising concerns over flooding in low-lying areas. The highest rainfall of the season so far was reported in Koonaram village of Srirampur mandal in Peddapalli district, which received 17.1 cm of rain between Monday and Tuesday morning. Significant rainfall was also recorded in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mancherial, Jagtial, Mulugu, and Adilabad districts, among others.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) confirmed that the Southwest Monsoon has now covered the entire state. Weather officials have forecast heavy rainfall in several districts over the next three days, including Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Medak, Kamareddy, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Warangal. Meanwhile, a special bulletin released by INCOIS indicated that El Niño conditions are strengthening and may peak between November and January. Experts warned that its impact could influence ocean temperatures, fisheries, coastal erosion, and flood risks along India’s eastern coastline through 2027.
