Chief Minister and His Spouse Participate in Varuna Yagam

The Maha Varuna Yagam, organized by the state government to invoke abundant rainfall, concluded with Vedic rituals and spiritual fervor on the banks of the Krishna River at Vijay Vihar in Nagarjuna Sagar. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his spouse participated in the sacred ceremony, performing rituals and offering Poornahuti under the guidance of Vedic scholars. The yagam was conducted with 108 priests and 11 homa kundas under the supervision of Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple priests. Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and his spouse also took part in the ritual.

Prayers were offered for plentiful rains across the Krishna and Godavari basins to ensure prosperity and well-being for the people of the state. The Chief Minister emphasized that conducting such rituals is a part of India’s spiritual heritage, reflecting the deep connection between nature, agriculture, and human life. With meteorological predictions indicating below-normal rainfall due to El Niño conditions, the government organized the yagam seeking divine blessings for full reservoirs, improved groundwater levels, and a prosperous agricultural season.
