Former minister T. Harish Rao approached the High Court, alleging that eligible farmers are not receiving the promised farm loan waiver. His counsel informed the court that nearly 23,000 farmers in Siddipet constituency have not benefited from the scheme and that the government order has not been fully implemented. The petition highlighted that farmers are facing distress due to the delay and lack of proper execution.
During the hearing, the government pleader suggested that the issue be filed as a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) since it concerns a larger section of people. The High Court also advised the same, stating that matters affecting the public should be taken up through a PIL. Following this observation, Harish Rao withdrew his petition from the court.
