Chittari Haribabu, 28, a resident of Eskonigutta Colony in Korutla, Jagtial district, was brutally murdered in Nizamabad district headquarters on Thursday. Haribabu was an accused in the murder case of YouTuber Gandham Vaishnavi, a native of Madapur village in Korutla mandal, and had reportedly been released on bail about a month ago. After working for some time at a Ganesh idol manufacturing unit along with his brother, he left his house in Korutla and moved to Nizamabad, where his mother was staying. He was selling corn cobs and vegetables with his mother at Rajarajendra Junction.
While Haribabu was selling corn cobs, an unidentified man arrived in a car and allegedly attacked him repeatedly on the head and neck with a knife used for cutting tender coconuts before fleeing the spot. Haribabu suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. The incident left local residents shocked, while CCTV cameras reportedly captured the attack. The murder has caused a stir as it occurred six months after the killing of Vaishnavi. ACP Prakash Yadav and Second Town SI Yadagiri Goud reached the scene and began an investigation. Meanwhile, reports said that the person suspected of killing Haribabu surrendered before Korutla police.
