The Andhra Pradesh government is restarting the online slot booking process for SADAREM medical assessments from Monday to make it easier for persons with disabilities to obtain official disability certificates. These certificates are essential for accessing government pensions, concessions and various welfare schemes. According to the information provided, more than 70,000 slots for November and December will be released. Earlier, slots opened in July were fully booked within just two days, leaving many applicants without an opportunity. To improve access, applicants can now book appointments through their nearest village or ward secretariats, the AP Seva portal or the Manamitra WhatsApp service. Digital assistants will also be available to help applicants with the process.
Applicants must submit the necessary documents during booking to prevent irregularities. These include a self-declaration form detailing the disability, an Aadhaar card, a ration card and a passport-size photograph. Applicants must also provide details of identifying birthmarks. Another key change is the provision to apply on a zonal basis instead of treating the entire state as a single unit. After booking, doctors will conduct medical examinations, assess the percentage of disability and issue official certificates to eligible applicants.
