Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the Telangana Government will extend full support to strengthen and expand Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). Speaking at a review meeting with Singareni and Genco officials in Kothagudem, he said the government is committed to protecting the 130 year old public sector company and helping it grow into an internationally competitive enterprise.
He stressed that Singareni should diversify beyond coal mining and enter sectors such as solar energy, pumped storage, wind power, hydrogen, rare earth minerals, and battery storage systems. Bhatti noted that the global energy sector is changing rapidly and thermal power dependence is expected to decline in the coming years. He urged Singareni to stay competitive by improving quality, reducing operational costs, and adapting to the changing energy landscape.
