

Australian Assistant Minister for Citizenship, Customs, Multicultural Affairs and International Education Julian Hill visited the Sri Kanaka Durga Temple atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada on Saturday as part of his official Andhra Pradesh tour. Temple Executive Officer V.K. Sheena Naik, Chairman Borra Radhakrishna and temple priests welcomed the delegation with traditional honours, Vedic chants and ceremonial music before escorting them for darshan and special prayers.
Following the visit, temple priests explained the spiritual significance and history of Goddess Kanaka Durga to the Australian delegation. Vedic scholars offered blessings, while temple authorities presented the minister and his team with sacred silk cloths, a framed image of the deity and prasadam. Elaborate security arrangements were made by the Vijayawada City Police throughout the temple premises to ensure the smooth conduct of the high-profile visit.
