Ashwini Vaishnaw Holds Key Meeting with Meta Representatives

Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw held a key meeting with representatives of Meta to discuss issues related to social media algorithms, content moderation, user safety, and compliance with Indian laws. During the meeting, Meta representatives reportedly acknowledged certain shortcomings in the company's systems and discussed measures to address them.

Ashwini Vaishnaw stressed that all digital platforms operating in India must strictly comply with the country's legal framework. Meta assured the government that it would strengthen its efforts to curb Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and deepfake content by enhancing its moderation systems and implementing stronger safety measures.
