Amit Shah made significant remarks regarding the changing situation in West Bengal, expressing satisfaction over the reduction in illegal infiltration activities along the border. He stated that while infiltrations were once a frequent occurrence, migrants are now voluntarily returning on their own. Shah clarified that individuals leaving voluntarily would not face any legal action.
The Union Home Minister further warned that those who refuse to leave voluntarily would be deported forcefully. Criticizing the previous administration under Mamata Banerjee, Amit Shah alleged that infiltration incidents increased during her tenure. He also revealed that 600 hectares of land had been handed over to the Border Security Force within seven days, helping remove obstacles to border fencing works.
