India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has welcomed the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as a significant development for global and regional energy security. Speaking at the 16th BRICS National Security Advisers’ Meeting in New Delhi, Doval said the move would support international trade, ease supply chain disruptions, and contribute to peace and stability in West Asia. He expressed cautious optimism that recent developments would have a positive impact on the region and the global economy.
Doval emphasized that uninterrupted maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea remains essential for global economic growth, energy supplies, and international commerce. He also highlighted emerging security challenges, including terrorism, geopolitical tensions, and regional instability, calling for stronger cooperation among BRICS nations to address evolving threats and strengthen global security frameworks.
