The Adani Group has proposed a massive ₹1 lakh crore investment to build a 1 GW artificial intelligence-focused data centre in Odisha. The project, which requires nearly 250 acres of land, is currently being evaluated by the Odisha government. If approved, it will become the largest data centre investment proposal by an Indian company and the second-largest overall after Google's planned project in Andhra Pradesh.
The proposed facility is expected to significantly strengthen India's AI and cloud computing capabilities while transforming Odisha into a major digital infrastructure hub. The proposal also aligns with Adani Group's expanding AI data centre strategy, which includes ongoing projects in Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad, along with its operational data centre in Chennai.
