Air India CEO Campbell Wilson revealed that more than 1,000 employees have been terminated over ethical violations and disciplinary issues during the last three years. The airline reportedly identified several violations including illegal transportation of goods from flights, misuse of employee travel benefits, and allowing excess baggage without collecting additional charges.
The CEO stated that discipline and ethical conduct are key priorities as Air India moves towards becoming a world-class airline under the Tata Group. He also mentioned that the airline is facing financial challenges due to rising fuel prices and West Asia tensions. Along with cost-cutting measures, the company is now focusing heavily on strengthening internal discipline and accountability.
