Don’t Slow AI Development Due to Fears - Nvidia CEO

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has dismissed claims that artificial intelligence could bring about the end of humanity by 2030, calling such arguments meaningless. In an interview with an international media outlet, Huang said companies should embrace AI technology rather than slow down its development because of fears surrounding potential risks. He stressed that companies must take necessary safety measures for their AI systems and should not release systems they consider unsafe.

His remarks come amid growing debate over the potential risks posed by rapidly advancing AI technology. Anthropic researcher Evan Hubinger recently warned that AI could potentially cause the deaths of more than 10% of the world’s population over the next decade. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and xAI chief Elon Musk have also expressed concerns about the pace of AI development and the need for greater safeguards. Against this backdrop, Huang’s comments have gained significance.
