Tinder introduced several new upgrades during the 2026 Tinder Sparks product keynote event, aiming to enhance user experience and safety on its online dating platform. The company announced improvements to its trust and safety tools using large language model technology. The upgraded “Does This Bother You?” feature can now detect harmful messages more effectively and will soon automatically blur such messages. Another feature, “Are You Sure?”, will also receive AI-based improvements and is expected to enter the testing phase later this year.
The platform also revealed new ways for users to connect with potential matches. A new Events section will allow people to discover nearby real-life events where they can meet others. Additionally, Tinder introduced a Video Speed Dating feature that enables users to have three-minute video interactions with potential matches, with the option to extend the conversation if both participants agree. The company has also begun rolling out its video-based face verification technology globally to improve user authenticity and safety.
Tinder is also expanding its discovery and profile features. New options such as Music Mode allow users to match with others based on shared music interests, while Astrology Mode helps people explore compatibility using zodiac signs. The platform has also introduced AI-powered photo enhancement tools, personalised recommendations, and design improvements such as full-screen photos and a redesigned profile page. Other additions include a learning system that understands user preferences and AI-curated daily match suggestions to improve the dating experience.
