Apple has reportedly begun another round of job cuts, just two months after its previous layoffs. According to reports citing Bloomberg, the latest reductions have affected a small number of employees working in the company’s Fitness+ subscription division. Teams involved in audio features such as Time to Walk and Time to Run, which provide guided workouts for Apple Watch users, are among those reportedly impacted.
The reported workforce reduction comes as Apple reviews costs associated with producing new digital content for its subscription services. Reports indicate that the company does not currently plan to discontinue Fitness+, although the pace or frequency of new audio content could be affected. Apple may also explore closer integration between Fitness+ and the Apple Health app. The latest move follows reported job cuts in August affecting more than 200 employees across software engineering teams, including groups associated with Vision Pro, Siri and other software development projects.
