Team India has suffered a major setback as star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against England. The all-rounder sustained a thigh muscle injury while training at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Medical assessments suggest that his recovery may take longer than initially expected, forcing him to miss the important bilateral series.
Pandya has also been left out of the T20I squads for the Ireland and England tours, as well as the team being considered for the upcoming Asian Games. According to reports, the BCCI is carefully managing his workload with an eye on the 2027 ODI World Cup. The Indian all-rounder is currently not fully fit to bowl and is also unavailable for the ongoing ODI series against Afghanistan led by Shubman Gill.
