Story:

Set in the Chittoor region in 2011, DC follows a gang that attacks police vehicles and steals weapons. Devadas (Lokesh Kanagaraj) is one of the gang members. The case becomes more serious after the gang murders the police officer investigating the robbery, prompting the department to assign officer Bhogaraju to track them down.

As the story progresses, the reasons behind the murder, Devadas' personal journey, and the roles played by Chandra (Wamiqa Gabbi) and Parvathi (Sanjana Krishnamoorthy) unfold through an engaging narrative filled with action, emotion, and suspense.

Plus Points:

One of the biggest strengths of DC is Arun Matheswaran's engaging screenplay, which keeps the audience invested from start to finish. Lokesh Kanagaraj makes a confident and impressive acting debut, perfectly fitting the rugged role of Devadas. Anirudh Ravichander's exceptional songs and background score elevate several key moments, especially the interval and climax. Wamiqa Gabbi delivers a strong performance with a well-written role, while Guru Somasundaram impresses as a menacing antagonist. The emotional depth, action sequences, and solid performances from the supporting cast further enhance the film's overall impact.

Minus Points:

Despite its engaging presentation, DC follows a familiar storyline that lacks complete originality. Some police investigation scenes feel reminiscent of earlier crime dramas, reducing the novelty factor. The conflict between the hero and the villain is not developed strongly enough, making their rivalry less impactful. A few portions in the second half could have been written with greater depth, and the villain's motivations occasionally feel underexplored. These shortcomings prevent the film from reaching its full potential.
