The government has postponed the appointment day of newly elected sarpanches due to the absence of auspicious timings. The Panchayati Raj Department announced that the programme for new sarpanches, who were scheduled to assume office between the 20th and 22nd of this month, has been rescheduled to December 22.
Public representatives requested the government to defer the appointment day, stating that there were no suitable auspicious timings on December 20. After reviewing these requests, the government, through the Panchayati Raj Department, officially decided to change the appointment day.
Accordingly, newly elected sarpanches across the state will assume their official responsibilities on December 22, all on the same day.
