Jana Sena chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said the three-party alliance had overcome pressure at the grassroots level to finalise seat-sharing arrangements for the upcoming local body elections. Speaking at a joint press conference with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Andhra Pradesh BJP president P. V. N. Madhav, he said the decisions were guided by the mandate given to the alliance by voters in the 2024 elections and the need to uphold alliance unity. Pawan Kalyan added that the coalition remained committed to working together in the interests of the state despite challenges within the three parties.
Pawan Kalyan said local bodies were essential for strengthening grassroots governance and achieving village self-rule. He also claimed that development works worth ₹1.5 lakh crore had been undertaken within his department’s remit over the past two and a half years, while several schemes discontinued by the previous government had been revived. BJP state president P. V. N. Madhav praised coordination among the three alliance partners and said Chandrababu Naidu had made considerable efforts to resolve seat-sharing issues. Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan said the state government was taking precautionary measures to deal with the impact of Cyclone Arnab.
