The release of documents linked to American financier Jeffrey Epstein has triggered widespread controversy across several countries. The so-called Epstein Files reportedly contain details involving royals, diplomats, politicians and business leaders, leading to resignations and investigations in multiple nations. Amid these revelations, Indian industrialist Anil Ambani has emerged in recent disclosures.
According to reports, communications between Epstein and Anil Ambani took place between 2017 and 2019, continuing until a few months before US authorities formally charged Epstein. The exchanges allegedly included discussions on global affairs, business matters and plans for personal meetings in cities such as Paris, Davos and New York. Certain documents also suggest conversations related to projects associated with Reliance Entertainment.
The fallout from Epstein’s associations has already been significant in Europe, particularly in the UK, where Prince Andrew lost royal titles and privileges. In response to the growing controversy, the US Justice Department has allowed members of the United States Congress to review the full Epstein files under strict conditions, without public release or external access, indicating that further developments may still unfold.
