Serious lapses and negligence by certain officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) have led to irreparable errors in the recently printed Panchangam, a highly authoritative religious text relied upon by Vedic scholars, priests, and almanac makers. This year, significant discrepancies have surfaced in the details of the annual Brahmotsavams of the Ontimitta Kodanda Rama Temple. While invitation letters and official pamphlets state that the festivities begin with Ankurarpana on March 26, followed by Dwajarohanam on March 27, Kalyanam on April 1, Rathotsavam on April 2, Chakrasnanam on April 4, and Pushpayagam on April 5, the Panchangam presents conflicting information.
According to the TTD Panchangam, the Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam is scheduled on March 31, with celebrations spanning from March 25 to April 4, including various vahana sevas and rituals—clearly contradicting the officially circulated schedule. Invitations have already been extended to Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, while public promotions are also underway. The glaring inaccuracies in such a critical publication have raised concerns over accountability and the need for stricter verification processes in officially recognized temple communications.
