

President Droupadi Murmu stated that the Indian Navy plays a vital role in protecting the nation’s coastal interests and has also ensured stability in maritime trade. The International Fleet Review commenced on Wednesday off the coast of Visakhapatnam. The President attended the event as the Chief Guest. She was accompanied by Andhra Pradesh Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The dignitaries sailed aboard INS Sumedha as part of the ceremonial proceedings.
The President received a ceremonial Guard of Honour from the Navy personnel. A total of 19 foreign warships and 45 Indian Navy ships participated in the Fleet Review, along with vessels from the Coast Guard, Merchant Navy, and nine research ships. Seventy one warships sailed in six formations as part of the grand parade, showcasing naval strength and maritime cooperation.
