Several prominent Hindu seers have expressed strong displeasure over reports of chemical mixing in the ghee used for preparing the Tirumala Srivari Laddu prasadam. They said that any compromise in the purity of the sacred prasadam deeply hurts the sentiments of millions of devotees across the world.
Seeking strict action against those responsible, the seers wrote letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, urging them to treat the matter with utmost seriousness. They stressed the need for firm steps to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.
The letters were sent by Sri Vidyashreesha Teertha of Sri Vyasaraja Mutt in Karnataka, Chendalamkara Sampath Kumara Ramanuja Jeeyar of Mannargudi Mutt in Tamil Nadu, and Sri Perambadur Jeeyar Swami. The seers emphasised that safeguarding the sanctity of Tirumala laddu prasadam is a shared responsibility of the authorities and is essential to uphold devotees’ faith.
