

The Central Government has informed that unclaimed deposits worth ₹2,279.16 crore are lying in various banks across Andhra Pradesh. The information was shared in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
Responding to a question raised by GM Harish, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary stated that as of the 28th of last month, a significant amount of deposits remained unclaimed in the state.
He said the Centre, in coordination with the Reserve Bank of India, has initiated focused measures to ensure that these funds are returned to the original account holders or their legal heirs.
Under the ‘Your Money–Your Right’ awareness campaign, special camps were organised at 158 locations across Andhra Pradesh. Through these efforts, deposits worth ₹161.69 crore related to 34,455 accounts were successfully settled.
Additionally, in Konaseema district, an amount of ₹5.08 crore linked to 1,899 accounts was handed over to the rightful heirs.
