Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged Chief Justice of India Justice Suryakant to establish a National Judicial Academy in Amaravati, aiming to strengthen judicial infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh’s capital region. Speaking at a state-level mediation conference organized by the Andhra Pradesh State Legal Services Authority in Vijayawada, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s vision to develop a world-class “Justice City” by integrating key legal institutions, including a Judicial Academy, Legal Services Authority, Mediation Centre, International Law University, and the Bar Council of India. He assured full cooperation and land allocation from the state government for the proposed academy.
Emphasizing mediation as a tool for speedy justice, Chandrababu Naidu stated that resolving disputes through mediation would help reduce case backlogs and accelerate development. The government plans to encourage mediation by offering financial incentives for successfully resolved cases. He also reiterated that Amaravati is being developed as a sustainable blue-greenfield capital aligned with the Viksit Bharat-2047 vision, noting that over 29,000 farmers voluntarily contributed land through the land-pooling model. Supreme Court and High Court judges, advocates, and legal experts attended the conference.
