In a major development for RTC employees, the government has announced an 11 percent PRC along with key decisions including the merger of RTC into the government and approval for recognition union elections. The RTC management has agreed to resolve the remaining issues through further discussions, marking a significant breakthrough after long-standing demands.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stated that RTC is like a family and assured that the government has taken positive decisions after detailed discussions. A committee involving officials and labour leaders has been formed for the merger process. The RTC employees have also called off their strike following the government’s announcements, while ministers and officials expressed hope that RTC will emerge as one of the leading public transport systems in the country.
