Important update for railway passengers – new charges will come into effect for journeys exceeding 215 km. In ordinary classes, the fare will increase slightly per kilometer. Specifically, for express trains in non-AC and AC services, there will be an additional charge of 2 paise per kilometer.
Additionally, for non-AC and AC trains, passengers traveling 500 km will incur an extra charge of ₹10. Due to these fare revisions, it is advisable for travelers to calculate their ticket costs in advance and plan their journeys accordingly. According to the Railway Department, these new fares will be officially implemented from the 26th of this month.
To ensure passengers face no inconvenience, the railways have announced these changes in advance. This allows travelers, especially those covering long distances, to be aware of the updated charges while booking tickets and plan their trips smoothly.
