Another significant development has occurred in the phone tapping case. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has issued notices to BRS leader and former Rajya Sabha member Santosh Rao. The SIT instructed him to appear at the Jubilee Hills ACP office at 3 PM on Tuesday. The notice stated that he might have knowledge of several matters related to this case. It is already known that the SIT has questioned former ministers Harish Rao and KTR in connection with the same case.
BRS Working President KTR reacted strongly to the SIT notices. He criticized the move as political vendetta, alleging that the authorities were targeting opposition leaders while letting the real culprits go free. He alleged that nothing came of the previous questioning of himself and Harish Rao, and now Santosh Rao is being targeted. On the other hand, Santosh Rao responded by saying that as a law-abiding citizen, he would appear for the questioning and provide full cooperation. The direction the SIT investigation will take has become a matter of keen interest in political circles.
