45 Prominent Individuals Selected for Padma Awards 2026

On the eve of Republic Day, the Government of India announced the Padma Awards for 2026. In the first phase, Padma Shri honours were conferred on 45 distinguished individuals for their exceptional contributions across various fields. Notable awardees include Anke Gowda from Karnataka for literature, CCMB scientist Dr. Kumaraswamy Thangaraj from Hyderabad, Bhagwandas Raikar from Madhya Pradesh, and Dharmiklal Chunilal Pandya from Gujarat. From Telangana, Ramareddy Mamidi has been honoured for his outstanding contribution to animal husbandry and the dairy sector. Dr. Kumaraswamy Thangaraj has been internationally recognised for over three decades of research on human evolution and genetic disorders.
