Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the lathi charge on Shiva devotees at Srisailam is very painful. He criticised the Chandrababu Naidu government, stating that devotees are being forced to live in fear. He added that repeated incidents and administrative failures are causing serious concern among the people.
Jagan alleged that there is no accountability in the present government. He said that even basic arrangements were not made at Srisailam and devotees who came for darshan were beaten and driven away with lathis. He pointed out that such incidents have occurred many times in the past as well.
He expressed concern that these actions are weakening the trust of devotees in the system. Jagan said the government must take responsibility for ensuring the safety and dignity of devotees.
