The Telangana government has decided to conduct the last rites of excise woman constable Soumya with full state honours after she lost her life while performing her duty during an operation to nab ganja smugglers. Soumya, a native of Mosra village in Nizamabad district, will be honoured with compensation of Rs 1 crore, and one member of her family will be provided a government job, announced Minister Jupally Krishna Rao.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed deep condolences over Soumya’s death and described the incident as deeply distressing. He directed police officials to take stringent action against those responsible for her death and assured that the government would stand by Soumya’s family in all possible ways.
