As part of Sankranti celebrations, Secunderabad Parade Grounds has been transformed into a vibrant festive venue. The Telangana government has made elaborate arrangements to host an international kite festival along with a grand sweets festival to entertain visitors.
The three-day International Kite & Sweet Festival, organised by the Telangana Tourism Department, will be held from January 13 to 15. The event will be inaugurated by Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao.
The festival will witness participation from 40 international kite flyers representing 19 countries, along with 55 national kite flyers from 15 Indian states. Specially designed giant kites in various shapes and illuminated night kites will be the major highlights.
Alongside the kite festival, a Sweet Festival is being organised featuring traditional Telangana sweets and homemade delicacies from several Indian states. Handloom and handicraft stalls, cultural performances, and family-friendly entertainment have also been arranged.
The minister has directed officials to ensure proper security, traffic management, medical facilities, and visitor amenities. Citizens and tourists have been urged to attend in large numbers and make the celebrations a grand success.
