Student union leaders who were on their way to stage a protest at the Collectorate on Tuesday were kidnapped, alleging that educational institutions run by actor Mohan Babu were collecting excessive fees. Following the incident, fellow student leaders immediately filed a complaint at the Tiruchanur Police Station. After the matter reached the notice of District SP Subbarayudu, special police teams were formed under the leadership of ASP Ravi Manoharachari.
The police acted swiftly and intercepted the kidnappers vehicle near Bheemavaram, close to Naravaripalli. The kidnapped student leaders were safely rescued and brought to the Tiruchanur Police Station. The kidnappers were arrested, and their vehicles were seized. Police identified the accused as bouncers working for Mohan Babu’s college.
District SP Subbarayudu directed officials to register criminal cases not only against those who carried out the kidnapping but also against those who were behind it. He warned that no one would be spared if they took the law into their own hands. Those kidnapped included SFI district secretary Akbar along with Naveen and Vinod. A case has been registered at Tiruchanur Police Station against the MBU management, including Mohan Babu, Vishnu, and university PRO Satish.
