The Telangana government has launched another crucial welfare program. With the aim of identifying the poorest of the poor in the state and providing them with all-round assistance, the government has directed officials to conduct a door-to-door survey. This decision, taken during the Sankranthi festival, shows the government's readiness to provide further support to the most backward sections within BPL (Below Poverty Line) families. While the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is already implementing several welfare schemes, this new program is expected to bring about a significant change in the lives of the poor, according to official sources.
Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Seethakka made a key announcement regarding this program. A high-level meeting was held at the Secretariat, attended by Poverty Eradication Organization CEO Divya Devarajan and other officials. The Minister stated that a phased door-to-door survey will be conducted across the state under the auspices of women's self-help groups, initially focusing on identifying the poor in the most backward villages. She clarified that after the survey, beneficiaries will receive phased assistance in areas such as education, employment, health, and skill development.
Seethakka stated that the selection of beneficiaries will be completely transparent. She explained that all villagers will be brought together, and selections will be made considering their family life, income, living conditions, and employment opportunities. She revealed that a final decision will be taken soon after discussions with the Chief Minister on this matter. The Minister stated that the government's goal is to transform the poor into prosperous individuals, and the Telangana government is taking steps in that direction.
